Hauteur: 60 cm-2 m. 
Étalement: 60-80 cm.
Sol: tout sol bien drainé, même calcaire, de préférence frais et riche en humus.
Exposition: soleil.

Semis/Plantation du rudbéckia au jardin

Plantez-la en début d’automne ou au printemps, tous les 60 cm car les touffes s’étoffent rapidement. Semis possible sous châssis en mars, pour une mise en place en automne. 

Mode de propagation

La plante se propage de manière végétative grâce à ses rhizomes qui lui permettent de coloniser de nouveaux territoires. Elle se propage également sur longues distances par l’intermédiaire de ses graines qui peuvent facilement s’accrocher au pelage des animaux.

Entretien du rudbéckia : 

Arrosez en cas de sécheresse estivale prolongée. En sol sec, paillez au printemps avec du compost ou des tontes de gazon. Coupez les fleurs fanées pour prolonger la floraison, mais laissez les dernières fleurs sécher sur pied et former des graines en septembre, pour nourrir les oiseaux. Coupez les tiges à la base en fin d’hiver. Divisez en février-mars les pieds devenus trop encombrants.

Floraison: de juillet à septembre. 

Variétés/Espèces du jardin au naturel:

 R. fulgida et ses variétés, comme ‘Goldsturm’ (fleurs jaune d’or à cône central brun, hauteur 80 cm), R. nitida ‘Herbstsonne’ (fleurs jaunes à cœur vert, hauteur jusqu’à 2 m, pour fond de massif). 

Maladies et parasites: limaces.
